Talleres, Recetas y Viajes
La comida influencia mis viajes, y los viajes inspiran mi comida.
La comida influencia mis viajes, y los viajes inspiran mi comida.
My name is Daniela, Mexican, in my late 20’s , recently married to BAE, and I am a lawyer, chef and traveler. A lawyer by profession, a chef by passion and a traveller by wanderlust.
I studied in my hometown to be a lawyer and I loved it. I worked for 3 years and enjoyed every minute of it. I met one of my best friends at work. However, the time came to follow my passion so I stopped practicing law and followed my dream to become a chef.
All of my life I have been surrounded by food, being part of a big Mexican family all of the celebrations revolve around food, and being brought up in that environment made me fall in love with food. I decided to attend one of the best culinary schools in the US in one of the greatest city in the world: NYC. This experience only reaffirmed my love for cooking. Living in NY gave me access to some of the best restaurants in the world and inspired my cooking. It was most definitely one of the best moments of my life.
I am lucky enough to have parents that gave me access to explore the world. Thanks to this I was able to discover new cultures, cuisines and people from all over the world. To this day I am blessed to have traveled to 4 continents, 30 countries and over 115 cities, and I just feel like I just scratched the surface of this magical planet. The more I travel and explore, the more I need to keep on doing it.
I decided to start this site to share my love for cooking and eating, and how these 2 inspire my need to discover new recipes, ingredients, chefs and cultures through travel. And viceversa, how all my travel experiences have influenced my cooking.
The content your going to find here is all made by me! The recipes are developed by your truly, unless otherwise stated, the pictures and videos I take them with my iPhone, and I edit (very badly) the videos from the instagram stories I post. I do love to collaborate so when I do I will definitely give credit where it is due.
The recipes I develop usually are due to the ingredients I have at hand, I rarely plan ahead what I am making, and I think that is the key to so many great recipes. All the ingredients are easy to find, I live in Monterrey, México and use the ingredients I can find in the supermarkets, when I use something imported or rare I will specify in the recipe itself.
The recipe layout will almost always be indicating the ingredients in metric and 6 easy steps to follow. Pictures and/or video will be included, but if you do have any questions or concerns I am glad to answer them.
For me the best thing about traveling is eating, so I always plan my trips around food and prior to leaving I make an exhaustive search for the best eats I can find, so when I arrive I take out my restaurant list and decide on what to try out first.
Due to my love for eating and finding the best places to eat, when I discover a great restaurant in some part of the world I love to share it with my friends and family, so they can also get to experience what it is I loved from that place.
I love to take pictures of what I ate so be prepared to have a lot of recommendations from me of some of my favorite eats in each city I’ve been, I even tell you what I ordered.
Many people ask me if all of the restaurants I go to make the list, and the answer is no, the ones I choose to share with you are the ones that I loved and I would definitely would go back.
